Hotel rules – For a safe and pleasant stay
Welcome to Sunderby Hotel & Conference. To ensure all guests have a safe and pleasant stay, we kindly ask you to follow these rules:
1. Check-in and check-out
- Check-in: from 3:00 PM (local time).
- Check-out: no later than 10:00 AM (local time).
- Foreign guests must complete a registration card in accordance with Swedish law.
- Late check-out may be offered for a fee and is subject to availability.
2. Cancellation and payment
- Cancellation policies vary depending on the booking type. Please see your booking confirmation for details.
- Payment is due upon check-in unless otherwise agreed.
- Advance payment or a deposit may be required.
3. Smoking
- The hotel and its surrounding areas are completely non-smoking. This also applies to the hotel entrances in accordance with Swedish law.
- Smoking is only permitted in designated areas outside the hotel grounds. This includes cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, and similar products.
- Unauthorized smoking on hotel premises will result in a charge of 1,500 SEK.
4. Pets
- Pets are not allowed.
- The hotel reserves the right to charge 2,500 SEK, or a higher amount corresponding to actual cleaning costs, if this rule is violated.
- Advance notification is required for guide dogs.
5. Silence and consideration
- Quiet hours are between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM (local time).
- Please be considerate of other guests in common areas at all times.
6. Damage and liability
- If a room requires excessive cleaning, the hotel reserves the right to charge 2,500 SEK or the actual cleaning cost, whichever is higher.
- A fee of 250 SEK will be charged for lost room keys.
- The hotel is not responsible for valuables.
- Threats, harassment, or discrimination are not permitted.
- It is not permitted to register additional persons at the hotel without approval.
7. Visitors
- Only registered guests are allowed in hotel rooms after 10:00 PM (local time).
- Visitors must register at reception.
8. Alcohol and drugs
- Guests may bring their own alcoholic beverages for consumption in their hotel room only.
- In all other areas, only alcohol purchased from Sunderby Folkhögskola’s restaurant or reception may be consumed or stored. This also applies outdoors on the Folkhögskola grounds.
- All forms of illegal drug use are prohibited.
- The use of nitrous oxide is not permitted.
- The hotel reserves the right to refuse service to or remove intoxicated guests.
9. Fire safety
- The use of electrical appliances that may pose a fire risk is prohibited.
- Always follow instructions in the event of a fire alarm.
- An evacuation plan is posted on the inside of each room door.
- Due to fire risk, it is not permitted to charge hoverboards, electric scooters, drones, or other similar rechargeable devices in the hotel.
- If you cause a false fire alarm intentionally or through negligence and emergency services are called, a fee of 2,500 SEK will be charged.
- Electric cars or other electric vehicles may only be charged at designated charging stations.
- Candles, electric stoves, gas stoves, or similar appliances are not permitted in hotel rooms or other areas.
- For fire safety reasons, all personal electrical devices (mobile phone chargers, laptop chargers, etc.) must be unplugged when leaving the room. If plugs are left connected, the hotel reserves the right to unplug them.
10. Other
- The hotel reserves the right to refuse or remove guests who violate these rules.
- It is not permitted to use the hotel network for illegal activities or to compromise the IT security of our systems.
11. Cleaning
- Rooms are cleaned after check-out before new guests arrive.
- Stay service (emptying trash bins, changing towels or bed linen) can be requested at reception. Please notify reception at least one day in advance.
12. Camera surveillance
- Camera surveillance is in operation. We follow Swedish laws and regulations regarding camera surveillance.
13. Waste
- Only normal household waste may be disposed of at the hotel. Larger quantities or special types of waste are not permitted.
- Bulky or hazardous waste (e.g., gas cylinders) is prohibited.
- Fees may apply for improper waste handling or additional cleaning due to littering.
14. Crime
- Any crimes committed at the hotel or on hotel premises will be reported to the police.
15. Weapons
- Weapons are not allowed on hotel premises.
- Guests with a hunting license or service weapon must contact reception in advance.
16. Common areas
- The hotel is not responsible for guests’ belongings in common areas.
- It is not permitted to take other guests’ purchased goods or lunch boxes from the refrigerator or freezer on the Terrace.
- When breakfast boxes are served on the Terrace, only one box per paying guest is permitted.
“The Terrace” is a common/open room for hotel guests on the 3rd floor. “The Shelf” is an open area for all guests/visitors, at the hotel entrance.
17. Additional costs
- Baby cot: 150 SEK
- Extra bed: 200 SEK
- Electric car charging: according to the current rate
- Camper van parking (including electricity): 300 SEK
Penalties
If a guest behaves in violation of these rules, fails to pay in full, or causes damage, the hotel reserves the right to refuse continued or future accommodation.
Charges and costs
The guest or room guarantor is responsible for any costs or damages caused to the hotel or third parties during the stay. Guests are required to compensate for any property that is damaged, broken, or unlawfully removed.
